Definition

In pharmaceutical logistics, a QP is a certified professional responsible for certifying that each batch of a medicinal product has been manufactured and distributed in accordance with GMP/GDP requirements before it is released to market. In the context of cold chain OBC shipments, the QP reviews temperature data logs from the transport container and the courier's chain-of-custody documentation to confirm that the product remained within specification throughout the journey. QP release is mandatory for Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) used in clinical trials.
