Excess Baggage
Aviation CodesDefinition
Baggage that exceeds an airline's standard weight or piece allowance for a passenger ticket. In OBC logistics, the shipment is typically checked as excess baggage when it is too large or heavy to be carried as standard cabin luggage but still within the weight limit for checked baggage (usually 32kg per piece). Excess baggage fees are significantly lower than air freight charges for the same weight, making this the most cost-effective method for OBC shipments in the 20-100kg range.
