Just in Time
Logistics TermsDefinition
A manufacturing and inventory management strategy that aligns raw material orders from suppliers directly with production schedules, minimizing or eliminating wareholding costs. JIT makes manufacturers highly dependent on reliable, on-time delivery — any delay in the supply chain can halt production entirely (Production Line Down). When a JIT disruption occurs, time-critical logistics (OBC/NFO/Air Charter) becomes the emergency response to restore the supply chain before financial losses escalate.
