Delivered at Place Unloaded

Definition

An Incoterm (2020) where the seller is responsible for all costs and risks of delivering the goods to the named destination and unloading them from the arriving conveyance. DPU is the only Incoterm where the seller must unload the goods at destination — all other D-terms leave unloading to the buyer. DPU replaced DAT (Delivered at Terminal) in Incoterms 2020. In time-critical logistics, DPU may be used when the logistics provider is expected to handle final unloading at the delivery point — such as installing a replacement part at a manufacturing facility.
