Definition

Electrostatic Discharge protection — measures taken to prevent damage to sensitive electronic components from static electricity. ESD can destroy semiconductor devices, damage circuit boards, and corrupt data storage media. In time-critical logistics, ESD protection includes anti-static packaging (conductive bags, foam, and cushioning), grounded work surfaces, wrist straps for couriers handling electronics, and humidity-controlled transport environments.
