Slot Time
AviationDefinition
A specific date and time allocated by an airport coordinator for an aircraft to arrive at or depart from a congested airport. Slot-controlled airports (e.g., LHR, FRA, NRT) require airlines to hold slots before scheduling flights. In time-critical logistics, slot availability can determine whether a same-day OBC shipment is feasible — if no departure slot is available, the shipment must wait for the next slot opening or route through a different airport.
