Free Carrier

Incoterms

Definition

An Incoterm (2020) where the seller delivers goods to a carrier or another person nominated by the buyer at the seller's premises or another named place. The seller is responsible for export clearance; the buyer assumes risk from the point of delivery to the carrier. FCA is commonly used in air freight and is the recommended Incoterm when goods are delivered to a freight forwarder for air transport. In OBC operations, FCA means the shipper's responsibility ends when the courier takes possession of the shipment.
