Chain of Custody

Definition

An unbroken documented trail that records every handoff of a shipment from origin to destination. Each transfer is logged with the handler's identity, timestamp, location, and condition of the goods. In OBC and Hand Carry services, the chain of custody is inherently stronger because a single courier maintains physical possession throughout. Chain of custody is especially critical for pharmaceutical cold chain, legal documents, high-value electronics, and any shipment requiring regulatory compliance documentation.
