e-AWB

Aviation Codes

Definition

Electronic Air Waybill — the digital equivalent of the paper air waybill, eliminating the need for physical AWB documents. The e-AWB is the default contract of carriage for shipments where the origin and destination airports both support e-AWB functionality (over 80% of global air cargo volume). e-AWB adoption accelerates customs processing, reduces document handling errors, and eliminates the risk of lost paper AWBs. FlashGL uses e-AWB for all eligible OBC and NFO shipments, falling back to paper AWB only at non-e-AWB airports.
